Manufacturing Outlook to focus on food processing

Posted by Jeremy Elwood on Nov 21, 2016

A drive around southwest Missouri will quickly reveal a landscape dotted with grain silos, rolling pastures and numerous dairy operations. So it should come as no surprise that food processing companies play a significant role in the economy of the Springfield region. In addition to the robust stainless steel manufacturing industry, providing production and storage equipment, there are more than 40 food manufacturing operations in the Springfield area.

It also should be no surprise that the Chamber has chosen the food manufacturing sector as the focus of our 2016 Manufacturing Outlook event. The event is scheduled for December 7, beginning at 11 a.m. at University Plaza Hotel & Convention Center. From major employers continuing to invest in local operations to innovative new companies entering the region, our panel of experienced professionals will explore numerous trends in this exciting and growing industry.

The panel of presenters will include:

  • Kurt Hellweg – Chairman, International Dehydrated Foods
  • Jeff Hinds – VP, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Compliance and Grower Support, Vital Farms
  • Randy Tucker – Manager of Human Resources, Dairy Farmers of America

You’re invited to join us for this informative and entertaining event. Tickets are $35 per person or $280 for a table of eight. Visit our event calendar to learn more or to purchase your tickets.
