Business Advocacy

The Springfield Chamber is taking action every day, both as a community partner and as the principal advocate for business at the local, state and federal levels. We advocate for public policy that will encourage economic growth and foster a healthy business climate. We also connect our members with other community leaders, so that together, we can develop innovative ideas to help our region thrive.

Legislative Advocacy

Ensuring the strength of Springfield's business climate begins at home. That's why the Chamber works at the local level to represent business interests with regard to City Council and School Board candidates as well as during local elections and at Springfield City Council.

We give businesses large and small a voice at the state and federal levels. Staff represents business every week at the Capitol in Jefferson City and we interact regularly with Missouri's Congressional Delegation in Washington, D.C.

Community Betterment

Through the Chamber's annual Community Leadership Visit, members learn best practices from peer cities, which they can bring back and implement in Springfield. A tangible example of this is the Community Focus Report, which is now recognized as a primary resource for guiding initiatives and decision-making within our community.
