NCA is a Christian College Preparatory School serving grades Jr.K-12.  All qualifying candidates must support the mission statement: "New Covenant Academy is a Christian college preparatory school committed to achieving Academic Excellence, teaching Biblical Truth, and developing Christ-like character"

New Covenant Academy is seeking a qualified full-time grades 5-8 School Counselor beginning August 2, 2019, at our new Liberty Campus.  This position has been created new due to enrollment growth!  

Hours are consistent with the school day.  Contract dates run concurrently with a teacher contract with 5 extra days.  This contract is renewable annually based on board of director approval.


Implement the Missouri Comprehensive Guidance Program

Guide and counsel individual students and groups for the purpose of meeting developmental, educational, and guidance needs. Assist in the coordination of the school testing programs and assure all ethical and standardized test administration procedures are followed.

Conduct classroom guidance lessons that contribute to the academic, college/career, and personal/social development of all students.

Assist students in making transitions between grade levels. Assist with the admissions process by testing prospective students, evaluating academic records, and conferring with the 5-8 principal regarding prospective students’ potential for academic success.

Coordinate the Student Support Team (SST) through the selection, development, and implementation of individual evidence-based academic/behavior intervention plans.

Assist in the coordination of Special Education services through the referral process and implementation of Individual Service Plans (ISP).

Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the school community.


The School Counselor shall fulfill all of the qualifications for a teacher, and in addition, shall:

  1.     Experience in counseling methods and/or education
  2.     Demonstrate the ability to organize, promote, and carry out the comprehensive counseling program
  3.     Possess an understanding of child development stages
  4.     Demonstrate an understanding in methods of instruction and training
  5.     Hold or have the ability to obtain a Missouri Career Student Services certificate in school counseling

Certification in school counseling coupled with life experience in church youth ministry is preferred over a counseling license focused on ministry based counseling.

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION:  Salary base begins at $33,125.  All full-time teachers are offered medical insurance for the employee, with NCA paying for a majority of the premium. The employee may pay for additional cafeteria plan for self and family.  Fringe Benefits include:  50% discount in tuition for your own qualified student to attend New Covenant Academy.
