The Real Estate Tax Specialist is responsible for the organization, analysis and accuracy of real estate tax information in an assigned region and payment of real estate taxes and reimbursements within strict deadlines.  Researching, tracking, analyzing and reporting tax information; including, parcels, tax rates, assessments and abatements in various software systems with accuracy is required.

Essential Job Functions

  • Serves as point of contact for real estate tax related inquiries from landlords, former property owners, tenants, and tax consultant and team members within assigned region
  • Track and research new Leases and owned property tax information for responsible region and enter into real estate software programs.
  • Organize, audit tax consultant bill upload spreadsheet for accuracy and prepare real estate tax bills for payment prior to payment deadlines
  • Work with Legal Department and prior property owners to establish accurate tax perorations on new properties, bill/pay of under/overpayment of taxes

Skills and Qualifications

  • Some college with emphasis on business or accounting and/or equivalent work experience
  • Three years of clerical, computer, bookkeeping experience; a general knowledge of real estate tax and commercial real estate practices
  • Computer friendly with a knowledge of general math and spreadsheet development
  • Organizational and analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and be able to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to research, analyze and track information
  • Ability to proofread for accuracy

This is a full-time opportunity; Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
