St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was founded in 1962 by entertainer Danny Thomas. His dream was that no child should die in the dawn of life. Since then, St. Jude has become a global leader in treating and curing childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The survival rate has increased from 20% to over 80%, thanks in part to local support from communities like Springfield and the Ozarks.
Describe the services your organization provides and what makes you unique:
St. Jude treats children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases, regardless of a family’s ability to pay. Families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food. St. Jude also shares its research worldwide, helping improve care for children everywhere.
