Small Business Spotlight – August 2019: Paragon Architecture

Company name: Paragon Architecture, LLC
Person in charge: Brad Erwin – President / Principal Architect
Year founded: 2010

Describe what your organization provides for its customers:
Paragon Architecture is in the field of architecture to make a positive impact on the communities we serve. We apply focused expertise and a collaborative team design process to co-create enhanced spaces for users. “Focused Expertise” means that we have invested our time and energy into specific markets and industries and partner with others to bring extensive knowledge to our clients. “Collaborative Team Design” is just as much a part of our product as our finished design. We believe the best product for our client requires their knowledge and experience blended with our own.

Give us a brief history of your business and what makes it unique:
Paragon was founded in 2010 and guided by a simple, yet profound mission: to impact our communities through service leadership with the purest intent. We strive every day to #BeTheSherpa for our clients. In essence, the Sherpa carries the load so others may reach their summit. Those three words evoke the idea and image of what applying the Paragon Approach™ correctly looks like. We feel the Sherpa philosophy is a great model for how we serve our clients from project start through completion and beyond. Our goal is to fully understand the client and humbly work alongside them to ensure a successful architectural journey.

What’s the most exciting recent highlight for your business?
We are excited about the evolution of the Paragon Approach™ and the “Be The Sherpa” philosophy. We’ve dedicated a great deal of energy creating a culture that’s tangible, inspirational and infused into every aspect of what we do. We strive to drop the ego and devote attention to our clients and their needs. Each project brings unique challenges, we are there to make the climb achievable and enjoyable. #BetheSherpa reminds us to think and serve selflessly.

Where do you hope to see your business in 12 months?
Our hope is to grow as our clients grow. It’s amazing to witness the progression of a school district or university as they launch new learning techniques. To see new branches pop up in the corporate sector and to design for the cutting-edge advances in healthcare. We believe in the mission of our clients and will always strive to expand as they fulfill their vision.

What advice would you offer to someone starting their own small business?
Believe in your people. Focus on their unique contribution and the things they’re passionate about that may or may not involve their job. Creating an environment that fuels all aspects of their life is critical to the greater good.
