IsoAge Technologies, a natural and sustainable food ingredient manufacturer, is expanding its local presence. The company is bringing a manufacturing division to our region, combining it with an existing research and development division in a 90,000 sq. ft. facility in southwest Springfield.

Headquartered in Athens, GA, IsoAge supplies the food, dairy and pet food industries with multifunctional ingredients for food safety, quality and flavor enhancement. The company’s Springfield manufacturing facility is already fully operational, and the expansion has led to the creation of six new jobs with wages above the county average, with additional new jobs possible in the future.

Chamber economic development staff worked directly with local company leadership to secure this capital investment and job creation for our region. Following a highly competitive process involving multiple states, IsoAge chose to reinvest in its Springfield operations as a result of attractive local and state incentives and proximity to raw materials and customers.

Company leaders were also impressed with the willingness of Springfield’s Partnership for Economic Development – including staff at the City of Springfield, Greene County, City Utilities and the Chamber, including its economic development arm, the Springfield Business Development Corporation (SBDC) – to work collaboratively with them during their decision-making process.

“The economic development team at the Chamber worked diligently on a very tight timeline, demonstrating to IsoAge management that Springfield was the best fit for our operational expansion. This area has a highly-skilled workforce available, with many skilled contractors, and we have been very pleased with our decision to make Springfield home to this facility,” said Robert Brooks, Sr. VP – Technical & Regulatory, with IsoAge Technologies.

The Springfield region’s legacy manufacturing industry is thriving, with food specialty manufacturing exhibiting strong growth in recent years. The investments of companies like IsoAge into their local operations and workforce demonstrate our region’s excellence in this growing industry.
