Keeping you informed about Chamber progress

aml_2017--01

Nearly 450 Chamber members gathered at the Oasis Hotel & Convention Center on August 9 for the Annual Membership Luncheon to hear from Chamber leaders about the progress we’ve made through the first half of 2017.

The purpose of the luncheon each year is to keep members informed about how the Chamber is doing in its work to meet the many goals set by the Board of Directors at the beginning of the year. This year’s event also worked to better inform members about how the Chamber works on their behalf every day – and how members can help support those efforts.

The event marked the formal introduction of the Chamber’s 2017 Reach Campaign. Reach began in 2016 as a comprehensive approach offering new ways for members to increase their profile by supporting the Chamber programs that most closely match their own mission. The chairman of the 2017 Reach Campaign, Ann Marie Baker of UMB Bank, introduced attendees to the four vice chairs for the campaign and told them about how they can get involved.

That was followed by Board Chairman John Wanamaker offering a recap of progress on chamber goals through the first seven months of 2017. From several new project announcements to legislative victories and newly created programs to help members connect, it has been a busy year thus far – as demonstrated by the updated version of the Chamber’s 2017 Strategic Action Plan, available here on our website.

The day’s events concluded with a panel discussion led by Chamber President Matt Morrow and featuring 2017 board Vice Chairs Jeff Childs, Denise Silvey and Stuart Stangeland and 2016 Vice Chair Krystal Russell. The panelists expounded on clips from the recently produced “Why Chamber” video, talking about various ways the Chamber works to help members: Creating Growth, Taking Action, Getting Connected and Developing Workforce.

We hope you were able to join us for this exciting event; if you couldn’t make it, feel free to browse our Photo Galleries page to see images from the day’s festivities!
