New jobs, larger footprint for SRC Logistics

SRC Logistics, Inc., a subsidiary of employee-owned SRC Holdings Corporation, is expanding within its Springfield facility, creating up to 50 new jobs with competitive benefits.

After winning a major client contract, the company is investing $700,000 in capital and utilizing 140,000 square feet of space at its East Pythian facility. This follows the relocation of SRC Holdings subsidiary Global Recovery Corporation to the SRC Technology Center, formerly the Regal Beloit facility on East Sunshine Street.

Currently employing 78 people, SRC Logistics is a core management and supply chain solutions company serving a dozen major remanufacturers.

Chamber economic development staff were instrumental in helping the company work with state and local economic development partners to access Enhanced Enterprise Zone tax incentives and Missouri Works job creation incentives, both of which ensured Springfield was a cost-competitive option for the company’s expansion. The project team also helped the company navigate the planning and development process to ensure proper systems were in place to facilitate the long-term contract with its new client.

"SRC won this contract while competing against larger international companies because of our industry leading core management system and the passion, drive and experience of our employee-owners," said Vaughn Henson, SRC Logistics general manager. "Springfield’s location and infrastructure also make it a natural logistical consolidation point for the continental U.S. We’re proud to bring this growth to the Springfield community and create opportunities for additional individuals to find long-term employment and hold ownership in our company."

News of continued growth among SRC Holdings subsidiaries like SRC Logistics and others points to the stability of the Springfield region’s remanufacturing industry and its future potential. Springfield is commonly referred to as the “reman capital” of the U.S. with more than 2,500 jobs and $100 million in payroll for the industry. SRC Logistics is currently hiring to support this new business; the company’s website has more information.
