New company to create 200 Springfield jobs

Springfield has been selected as the location of a new call center that will create 200 new jobs, the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce has announced.

FLS Connect, a political communication and fundraising company based in Minnesota has leased the former Strategic Fundraising building in Medical Mile Plaza, 3300 S. National Ave.

Scheduled to open Dec. 1, FLS Connect is already filling available positions, including management staff. The Minnesota-based company selected Springfield over three other communities. Chamber economic development staff along with its economic development partners worked with FLS Connect for much of 2015, assisting the company in its selection of the Springfield region.

FLS cited the quality of Springfield’s workforce. “Springfield offers top notch employees with Midwestern values that fit our mission of building a one‐to‐one relationship between our clients and constituents,” said FLS partner Tony Feather, a Missouri native.

Another positive was a “plug and play” facility ready for immediate occupation. Chamber staff noted this as a critical factor in job creation. “In this industry and others, a move-in ready building is what keeps us in the hunt to win jobs across our region,” said Tom Rankin, Sperry Van Ness-Rankin Company and board president, Springfield Business Development Corporation, the Chamber’s economic development arm.

This will be the fourth location for FLS Connect. Two are in Minnesota and another in Phoenix.
