The Summit Preparatory School of Southwest Missouri is seeking Middle/High School educators in the following area for the 2019-2020 academic year:

Mathematics - Temporary Position

The Summit, located in, Springfield, Mo, is a fully accredited, independent, non-profit, co-educational day school meeting the learning needs of 160 students, Early Learners through High School.  The Summit is characterized by its progressive, student-centered philosophy, academically challenging curriculum, personalized, “deeper learning” approach, motivated students, small class sizes, and talented, dedicated faculty. The Summit offers a regionally competitive salary in a collaborative and engaging teaching community.

This semester long position has a tentative start date of August 1, 2019  which will extend through December 20th, 2019.

Candidate Profile:


  • Student-centered, progressive approach to learning
  • Proficient in integrated, inquiry, and project based learning
  • Adept at technology integration (coding, computer programing is a plus)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experienced at curriculum development
  • Skilled in collegial collaboration
  • Energetic, creative, and flexible



  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Teacher certification desired but not required (quality candidates with prior, non-current certification will be considered)
  • Minimum 2 years+  classroom experience in academic field preferred (quality candidates with limited experience will be considered)
