Describe what your organization provides for its customers:
In short, we provide estate liquidation services to local area families. Our main focus is facilitating and organizing the sale of a client’s estate. Our service includes advertising, staging and orchestration of the sale for a deceased loved one, someone downsizing, moving, etc.
Give us a brief history of your business and what makes it unique:
Our business started with $200 and a prayer. I sat down at my computer and asked the Lord for his guidance in this venture. I’ve always had a love for antiques and collectibles. I also have a heart for helping others. People come to us sometimes the day after losing a loved one and have no idea what to do next. We do our part to help them through the process of liquidating the items without the family having the worry of doing that.
AB Estate Sales is unique because of our customers! For each family we have the privilege to work, we have a huge list of loyal customers that enjoy shopping with us! I think they love that we are a small, hardworking, family-owned business that truly understands our customer base.
What’s the most exciting recent highlight for your business?
I think the most exciting part has been the growth we have experienced in our customer base over the last year. This is something that has allowed us to grow our team and become more proficient in our craft. We’ve continue to maintain a five-star review for three years now. I get calls for referrals daily. That says something for a company.
Where do you hope to see your business in 12 months?
I see ourselves continuing this momentum and becoming a household name among Springfield residents. Growing, serving and hiring!
What advice would you offer to someone starting their own small business?
Take it one day at a time. Starting a business is never easy. It’s best to find others to lean on for support and listen to their ideas for you to achieve. Researching is key; you want to be able to overcome challenging tasks, and be as knowledgeable as you can for your small business to succeed. Be financially sound, and most importantly, be healthy. Starting a new business sometimes means no sleep and unhealthy eating habits. Take time to pack your lunch and sit down for some time to yourself.
