Four resources to keep your business from being hacked

Cyber security is a must for the modern small business. Cyber attacks on major corporations make for bigger headlines, but make no mistake, small and medium sized businesses are at risk as well.

In fact, in 2012, 50 percent of all targeted cyber attacks were aimed at businesses with fewer than 2,500 employees, and 31 percent were aimed at businesses with fewer than 250 employees.

Small Business Administration Learning Center offers a 30 minute self-paced training exercise that provides an introduction to securing information in a small business. The exercise will help you learn best practices, identify information that should be secured and learn about different types of cyber threats. Learn more.

The Federal Communications Commission

The FCC has a useful list of tips for Small Businesses with some very tangible action items that small businesses can take to mitigate security risks. There’s also a useful list of resources if you scroll down to the bottom of the page. Learn more.
