The Chamber’s economic development arm, the SBDC, has managed the Talent Attraction Initiative (TAI) for more than three years. The program is a direct response to employers’ need for additional skilled workers to meet growth demands.
TAI launched in January 2014 with LiveInSpringfieldMO.com, an eye-catching digital front door for the region. The initiative has expanded to include printed brochures, a recruitment booth for use at tradeshows and a series of videos designed to showcase the highlights of the area.
While the initiative has been successfully utilized by local employers and even recognized by our peers as among the best in the industry, Chamber economic development staff consistently look for ways to keep the resources up-to-date.
“Springfield area employers are working to attract people from all over the world that are dynamic, diverse, outgoing, high-energy and adaptable professionals, so our marketing efforts have to be just as dynamic,” said Economic Development Marketing Coordinator Rachael Snow. “To ensure we’re telling the most compelling story of what it’s like to live and work in the Springfield Region, we have to present materials that are fresh and exciting.”
The most recent enhancements to the LiveInSpringfieldMO.com website include:
The video library also includes the first two new videos highlighting the area’s quality of life features. (Scroll down to see one of those videos here!)
“People outside our region might not be aware of all the potential benefits of living here, such as our family-friendly atmosphere or our low cost of living,” Snow said. “We believe that if we can show them what our community has to offer, we can make a strong argument for Springfield as a great place to live, work and play.”
