Meet the Newest Members of Leadership Council: Brandi Bartel

Posted by Paige Oxendine on Nov 14, 2016

We're adding eight great new members to The Network's Leadership Council in 2017, including Brandi Bartel from The Victim Center. We caught up with Brandi to learn a little more about what it takes to manage one of our community's critical resources, how long she's been in Springfield, and what you can find her doing when she's not at work. Learn more about Brandi below!

Tell us a little about your day to day role and responsibilities within your organization.

My role as Executive Director for The Victim Center is to provide oversight and leadership for the operations and mission of the organization. The Victim Center provides free-of-charge counseling, crisis response, and advocacy to any adult or child who has survived a violent or sexual crime. We're on-track to help over 3,600 victims this year.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

Unwind! My husband and I love to travel, spend time on the lake, hike, or go camping. I'm also a great cook and enjoy trying new foods and recipes.

How long have you lived in Springfield?

I've been in the Springfield area for 12 years.

What's your favorite place for a lunch meeting?

Anywhere my guest feels comfortable!

What's the best place to unwind after a long day at work?

Jose Locos on north Glenstone. They have a great Taco Tuesday.

In your opinion, what's the best part of being a young professional in Springfield?

There are a lot of great opportunities in Springfield for getting involved and contributing. Everyone, regardless of age, can make a difference.
