SBDC tracks economic development gains

The Springfield Business Development Corporation, the economic development arm of the Chamber, made significant progress in the past year. Notably, the SBDC completed 10 projects resulting in 516 new jobs, $22.7 million in new payroll and $59.2 million in new capital investment.

New company to create 200 Springfield jobs

Springfield's quality workforce is a major factor in a Minnesota company's decision to open a new call center here that will create 200 full time jobs. FLS Connect, a political communication and fundraising company, is already hiring for available positions, including management staff. The center is scheduled to open Dec. 1.

Help us dive deeper into the main drivers of our economy

The Chamber is partnering with the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis to conduct a short 10 question survey which will evaluate regional economic conditions. Participation in the survey is voluntary, and will be open to all businesses from February 4 through February 11 in an online format. The results of the survey will be released later this spring.
