Company Name: SWI (formerly known as Springfield Workshop)

President: John H.Foley
Years In Business: 50-plus

Business Description:
We pack. We assemble. We collate. We mow and trim lawns. We care about what we do and how well we do it. “We” are the more than 200 individuals with developmental disabilities who find dignified and meaningful work at SWI. We perform work to your specifications, and projects are completed on time, on budget and to your satisfaction. We supplement the workforce of other manufacturers.

Unique Features:
SWI (formerly known as Springfield Workshop) has supported area businesses with quality subcontract work for more than 50 years, while providing vocational opportunities to our employees. We are a nonprofit with a large production facility and warehouse on West Bennett. Our employees take pride in their work and the fact that they earn a paycheck, which is spent locally.

Exciting News:
We also have micro businesses, such as Sunny Bunny Eggs. Last year we processed over 11 million plastic eggs, just in time for Easter. Eggs were filled with candy or trinkets, or as otherwise specified by the customer.

What does the future hold?
Today, we have a Micro Business Council which is helping to identify additional ways SWI can meet its mission of building a quality workforce to area businesses and providing meaningful and dignified work for individuals with disabilities.
