• Springfield-based SRC Holdings Corp. is pursuing a full-scale remanufacturing operation with farm and construction equipment manufacturer CNH Global N.V. The strategic alliance could result in hundreds of new jobs for the area.
• Springfield continues to rank as one of the safest driving cities, according to Allstate Insurance. According to the report, the average driver in Springfield will experience an auto collision every 11.1 years.
• Ozarks Technical Community College and Drury University's College of Graduate and Continuing Studies have reached an agreement to help allied health students transfer seamlessly into Drury’s Bachelor of Science in Health Services program.
• Job orders placed with the Missouri Career Center in Springfield jumped significantly in the first weeks of August. The number of open job orders placed with the center jumped from 400 to nearly 800 for the seven-county area that the center serves.
• CoxHealth will open its fourth Wal-Mart clinic later this month at the southeast Springfield Supercenter. The Wal-Mart clinics serve as an alternative for people without health care insurance.
