IN.network

IN.network is designed with interns in mind. It’s a summer program created to enhance the internship experience by showing soon-to-be graduates what Springfield has to offer outside the workplace. In a nutshell, it’s Springfield’s link from college to career.
About the Program
IN.network is the intern version of The Network for Springfield’s Young Professionals, established by the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce to help retain young talent in our community. The IN.network consists of a series of events hosted during the summer, showing soon-to-be college graduates what Springfield has to offer and engaging them early in their professional development.
Since 2010, the IN.network has helped more than 60 college interns form a real connection with the Springfield business community.
Throughout the months of June and July, interns will have the opportunity to attend professional luncheons, panel discussions, and additional social events to connect with other interns and young professionals living and working in Springfield.
Benefits
Research has shown that if new employees do not establish relationships outside of their work environment within 3-6 months of hire, they are more likely to leave, depriving both their employer and community of valuable young talent. Young adults crave connection, and the purpose of the IN.network is to help foster connections for college students interning at local Springfield area businesses.
The IN.network is not an internship opportunity; instead, it’s designed to enhance students’ already valuable internship experience and offer them the opportunity to build social and professional relationships within the community.
Get On Board
With no cost for participating employers or interns, the IN.network is now seeking talented interns for the summer 2012 session.
IN.network participants attend networking and professional development events throughout June and July, all scheduled around the business day so they do not miss out on their principle work experience. These events help participants connect with their fellow interns and the young professionals already living and working in Springfield.
