Nominate an 'outstanding' health care professional: deadline is Friday

For nearly 30 years, the Chamber's Salute to Health Care event has honored health care professionals who have gone beyond the traditional scope of their jobs to improve the health of Springfield area residents.

Recipients of the Salute to Health Care Award must be a direct provider of health care service and someone who has demonstrated leadership in making the Springfield area a healthier place.

Recipients are people who are leaders in the workplace and the community. They have gone beyond the traditional scope of their job to improve the health of Springfield area residents by pioneering a field or bringing about significant change in the delivery of health care.

View past award recipients.

How do I nominate someone? Email Kim Everest the name and contact information of the person(s) you would like to nominate.

Nomination deadline is Friday August 19, 2011.

The Salute to Health Care event is a collaboration between the Chamber and the Springfield Business Journal (SBJ). In addition to the Chamber Salute awards, SBJ will hand out awards to health care workers in these categories: EMTs, nurse practitioners, patient advocates and clinic administrators.

An independent panel of judges will select the honorees. The award recipients will be honored during a banquet on October 27. Banquet registrations begin Sept. 5 on SBJ’s website.
