• An expansion at Springfield area manufacturer Buckhorn, Inc., has created 80 new jobs. The expansion is a result of an increase in business and a consolidation of the company’s plants.

• A new community information Web site and e-newsletter www.springfiedsource.org launched.  The site and newsletter are designed to directly inform Springfield area citizens of issues, news and events relevant to Springfield-Greene County’s major government and education institutions and collaborative human-services networks.

• Spring enrollment at Ozarks Technical Community College is up 14% from 2009.

• Forbes Magazine ranked three Missouri banks among the best in the nation.  UMB Bank ranked number two, Commerce Bancshares ranked number three and Central Bancompany, the holding company for 12 banks including Empire Bank ranked number eight.
