February 2010 Promote the Positive

•    Spring enrollment at Ozarks Technical Community College is up 16.6%.  12,383 students enrolled for the spring 2010 semester.

•    The Springfield-Branson National Airport is the only major airport in the region to finish 2009 with positive passenger growth. The airport posted a four percent increase in total passengers, when compared to 2008.

•    OTC received the largest donation in the college’s history.  The gift includes two facilities and surrounding property in Lebanon, Missouri.  The property is valued at approximately $2.6 million and will be used to establish a new campus in Lebanon.

•    USA Today featured Springfield’s “diverging diamond” in its January 28, 2010 edition as a positive example of traffic management.

•    The Missouri Department of Economic Development has certified a development-ready site in Springfield’s Partnership Industrial Center West.  The 51-acre site is located in northwest Springfield adjacent to I-44 and the Springfield-Branson National Airport.  This is the second such site in Missouri to be designated.  The first was in Columbia, Missouri.
