Chamber announces 2013 Small Business Award recipient
The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce Connell Insurance Inc. as the recipient of the 2013 W. Curtis Strube Small Business Award.
Springfield, Mo. – The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce Connell Insurance Inc. as the recipient of the 2013 W. Curtis Strube Small Business Award.
Following a devastating fire in the late sixties, the Connell family’s manufacturing business never quite recovered. It was the impact of this tragedy that prompted Pat Connell to found Connell Insurance.
Since its inception, the Connells have built a reputation for excellence that is based in the company’s proactive approach to serving its customers. After Tim Connell and his nephew took over the agency in 2006, the company diversified and continued to grow.
“I’m happy to say as a company, since taking over we’ve shown a profit every year, even through this recession,” Tim Connell said.
In the late nineties, Connell was among the first to “go paperless” and is currently the only Ozarks Greenscore certified insurance agency in southwest Missouri. The agency is active in the community making donations and volunteering at numerous events.
“We strive to over-serve,” Connell said. “Those are all things that we find come back to us just by paying it forward.”
The W. Curtis Strube Small Business Award celebrates the importance of small business in the Springfield community and highlights the unique entrepreneurial spirit that flourishes here. The award recipient is selected based on such factors as staying power, response to adversity, innovative products or services, business philosophy and contributions to the community, and is announced each year during an award lunch.
