Guests who visit Panera Bread bakery-cafes within the Traditional Bakery, Inc. /Oklahoma City Bakery, Inc. franchise (TBI/OKC) will begin hearing cashiers ask the question, “Would you like to round up your total to support Baking Memories 4 Kids?”  Through a new partnership, scheduled to launch April 3, 2017, Panera Bread bakery-cafes in Southwest Missouri, Northwest and Central Arkansas, and Oklahoma will give guests the opportunity to round up their purchase total to the nearest dollar. Proceeds from rounded-up transactions will be donated to Baking Memories 4 Kids, where they will be used to help send local children with life-threatening or terminal illnesses, and their families, on an all-expense-paid trip to Florida theme parks.

Baking Memories 4 Kids is a non-profit organization, headed by Frank Squeo, cancer survivor, and a man with a mission.  Squeo battled testicular cancer, and through this experience, he realized how hard it is for patients, and families. He met children and their families enduring extremely difficult experiences and decided to help by raising money and organizing trips to help them make great memories in an otherwise very difficult time.  Partnering with TBI/OKC, Panera Bread bakery-cafes will help send even more deserving kids.

“Every time a guest generously rounds-up their total purchase to make a donation to Baking Memories 4 Kids, they are helping to create a life-long memory for a sick child from their own community.  You will be amazed what 10 or 20 cents can do for a family whose life has been consumed by the physical, emotional and financial demands of having the lingering fear of what tomorrow may bring, if tomorrow comes at all. Through our partnership with Panera Bread we are so grateful that we will be able to help put those fears at bay for so many families.  We cannot wait to get started,” said Frank Squeo, Baking Memories 4 Kids, Founder.

TBI/OKC President, Brian Camey, said he was excited about partnering with Baking Memories 4 Kids and sending children and their families on a Florida vacation, “This is truly a wonderful experience because in most of these situations the child and their family spend much of their time dealing with their condition, getting medical care, and are often separated from one another as a result. These trips give everyone in the family a chance to relax, enjoy each others’ company, and take a break from their daily struggles while they all make memories they will have for a lifetime.   Because Baking Memories 4 Kids serves families across the entire nation, this partnership presents an opportunity for TBI/OKC’s bakery-cafes to join forces and make a large scale impact.”

Currently donations will only be accepted at the in-house registers and drive thru.  No donations will be accepted through Rapid Pick Up, Kiosks, or Delivery.
