Posted by Paige Oxendine on Nov 14, 2016

We're adding eight great new members to The Network's Leadership Council in 2017, including Justin Coyan from our very own Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce. We sat down with Justin to learn a little more about his day to day at the Chamber, what he loves most about being a young professional in Springfield, and more. Read on to learn more!

Tell us a little about your day to day role and responsibilities within your organization.

I work at the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce as the manager of business development. My primary role is to support business and economic growth in the Springfield region. I promote our region by meeting with consultants that advise corporate clients on strategic site selection for their future growth and expansion plans, as well as working directly with companies to help them navigate our community as a great place to do business.

What might someone be surprised to learn about you?

I would consider myself an avid and passionate waterfowl hunter.  It is not only the adventure of the hunt that gets me excited about this hobby, it’s the comradery, laughter and funny stories that I get to enjoy with family and close friends that turn this hobby into a passion.

How long have you lived in Springfield?

I grew up in Rogersville, so I consider myself to have lived in the Springfield area my entire life.

How did you first get involved with The Network?

My wife….as a good husband should, I took her advice.  She had been telling me about The Network and the awesome people she was meeting and the opportunities that the group provided, so I listened and joined.  The rest is history!

What other organizations or causes are you involved with?

Greater Ozarks YoungLife and Christ Community Church

In your opinion, what's the best part of being a young professional in Springfield?

Our community offers young professionals what many are looking for…. opportunity.   Our community leaders value the hard work, input and vision that our YPs have, and the value that brings to our community is incredible.
