Vote Springfield on April 4

Posted by Paige Oxendine on Mar 06, 2017

Did you know the average Greene County voter in an April election is over 60 years old? As young professionals we must do better. The city’s upcoming election is a critical one with six City Council seats up for grabs, including Mayor. Additionally, voters will determine the fate of a $189 bond proposal that will allow for the construction of new buildings and improvements throughout nearly all existing SPS facilities.

With some describing the upcoming election as a potential 'tipping point' for our city, The Network's Leadership Council has voiced strong support for the candidates and measures endorsed by the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce and urges other young professionals to consider doing the same. Stop and think for a moment - How different could Springfield look if all of our city's young professionals voted on local issues?

We encourage you to head to the polls on April 4. And when you do, we hope you'll cast ballots in favor of:

  • Focused and united city leadership that is committed to growth
  • The advancement of our city as a place where young professionals want to live, work, and play
  • A strong public school system that supports a diverse population of students
