The City of Springfield:
There are a number of openings on the boards and commissions staffed by the Planning and Development Department. In general, all board members must have been City of Springfield residents for two years. The statutory residency for the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority is five years. Current openings include:
Abilities First is The Network's 2016 nonprofit partner and they're looking for new members to join the Friends of Abilities First board. This board meets the fourth Friday of every month at Abilities First from noon to one with lunch provided. Friends of Abilities First coordinates two major fundraisers per year (dinner in March and bike ride in June) and participates in Give Ozarks Day. This position requires great communication and facilitation skills, and the ability to prepare and give presentations and train managers, solve problems, and consult with small to mid sized business owners.
