City Utilities (CU) is a publicly owned Utility, responsible for the generation, transmission, and distribution of electric power; the acquisition, transportation, and distribution of natural gas; and the acquisition, treatment, and distribution of water; the operation of SpringNet Telecommunications; plus the operation of the bus transportation system.  The CU service territory covers approximately 320 square miles, which includes all of the city of Springfield, portions of Greene County, and a part of northern Christian County.

  • NEW POWER STATION OPPORTUNITY: CU is in the process of building a new Power Station which will require additional employees within Power Production.  So, what are we doing to train potential employees, right here in Springfield, Missouri?

    POWER STATION CO-OP PROGRAM: The Power Station Co-op program is a partnership between CU and OTC.  This program allows students to gain educational and cialis samples practical training in order to prepare to apply for a full-time Power Station position. 
    How do I get info on this program? Interested students must have recently  completed at least one semester (12 hours) of college credit in an electrical,  maintenance, or industrial related field of study and cialis price 50 mg be currently enrolled in,  and be working toward, a specific degree applicable to the Power Station Co-op  position.  Students accepted into the program will be required to work between  20-25 hours per week.  Contact an OTC Advisor for more information.

    How does it Work? CU offers OTC students who have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours in the Diesel Technology Program an opportunity to qualify for an  internship within the Fleet Management Department of City Utilities.  The  students will receive 3 credit hours for the 16-week on-the- job co-op training  while working at CU. This enables the students to gain highly needed job  experience which helps them obtain full-time employment in their field of study.  Contact an OTC Advisor for more information.
