Community Betterment

For well over a decade now, a delegation of Springfield community leaders have traveled to a peer city, to learn from the experiences of another community and to bring back ideas that will benefit the Springfield region. These visits have provided the opportunity to learn “best practices” from other areas, especially with regards to downtown redevelopment, regional partnerships, and overall community betterment.  These Community Leadership Visits offer the opportunity for interaction with leaders in other parts of the country and relationship building among our own local leadership. The Springfield and Greene County Community Report Card spotlight Blue Ribbons and Red Flags, selected conditions that merit honor or concern in our community.  Blue Ribbons show the successes and strengths of Springfield and Greene County while Red Flags point to problems that need attention.   The report has been a catalyst for ongoing community discussions and actions to address the needs outlined in the report.The Chamber was a funding partner and sponsor of the report along with a variety of other community other organizations.
