About Us

Welcome to the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce!

A strong local economy means better business for you. The Chamber is working every day to ensure that the Springfield area maintains a pro-business climate where every company, large or small, has the opportunity to succeed.

In 2013, the Chamber will support its mission and build a stronger regional economy through the following strategic areas of focus:

Creating Jobs & Business Investment

Every business benefits from economic growth and the creation of new jobs. More quality jobs contribute to a larger population with higher wages to spend supporting local businesses.

Advocating for Business

The Chamber serves as the voice of Springfield area business interests, working to ensure that local, state and federal lawmakers are aware of the issues that are important to our members and that government decisions at every level support a strong regional business climate and quality economic growth.

Growing Your Business

The Chamber will enhance the value of Chamber membership by continuing to grow the programs and services we provide for our members. We want our members to have meaningful, relevant and beneficial interaction with the Chamber and other members

Building a Stronger Economy

Within these areas of focus, the Chamber will continue to build a stronger, more vibrant economy through programs that encourage regional cooperation, workforce development, community betterment and environmental sustainability.

Regional Leadership

As the third largest city in Missouri, Springfield is a hub for the surrounding area, making collaboration key to the success of our economy. Through the Springfield Regional Economic Partnership the Chamber works to promote sustainable economic opportunities for partner members in the surrounding 10-county region.

Workforce Solutions

The Chamber is developing a talent attraction campaign to assist existing companies with their recruitment efforts, and  The Network for Springfield’s Young Professionals is working to develop, attract and retain talent to maintain a quality workforce now. The Chamber is also leading a community effort called the P-20 Council of the Ozarks with the main objective being to align student progression through education institutions and to prepare them for higher education and the workforce.

Community Betterment

Here at the Chamber, we understand that maintaining a pro-business climate begins in the community. We are committed to fostering an environment where your business can grow and thrive, and through programs like the Community Leadership Visit and Community Report Card, the Chamber supports opportunities to evaluate our community and learn “best practices” from other areas.
